Our software engineer Andy Tja traveled to Israel two weeks ago for several important security workshops. In Haifa, Andy met with Microsoft partners and customers. Together with the partners and customers, a user group was formed and they provided feedback to Microsoft on their security policies and products.

Sessions were held with various Microsoft Product Engineering teams, similar to Product Owners in software development teams, to solicit their ideas about Microsoft (Identity) products. “We appreciate this because, as users of Microsoft products, we can provide direct feedback, and in these interactive sessions, we interact with the engineers who build Microsoft products and develop the roadmap.” Microsoft deliberately withheld the roadmap in advance to avoid influencing the opinions and feedback of the user groups.

“The feedback is being listened to”

A day after the feedback sessions, it’s clear that Microsoft engineers have listened carefully to the issues and feedback raised. Potential solutions are being presented. “Of course, Microsoft can’t provide release dates or other guarantees, but what’s clear to us is that the feedback we provided the day before is being listened to,” with the key points being:

Microsoft NDA

The third day was a real workshop. “We reviewed best practices and tested deployments; a very educational day!”

‘During the breaks I met interesting people and of course I ate all the food’.
